Customer Service is not resolving the issue.

Beware of the DHgate.com Scam , and don’t let them get you.

I’m an avid online consumer and do about 85% of my shopping online.

Stay away from DHgate.com or at least know their scam so you can limit your risk to

some degree.

So I will quickly explain their scam then I will elaborate on their product issues.

So there is a strong chance that you will need to return many items you purchase from Dhgate (I’ll explain why later). So like amazon, they do offer returns, however you will be put in a ridiculous situation whenever you have to return an item. You submit your reason for return to the seller ( the company that you actually buy the merchandise from through the DHgate.com platform), the seller typically will agree to let you return the item, give you a full refund, and they say they will even pay for shipping. But, oh no, not how you think they will pay for shipping. Not like amazon where they send you a prepaid shipping label and you are good to go. They require you to pay for the shipping upfront, take photos of your shipping receipt and proof of tracking number and send it to DHgate.

But heres the big problem. Using my purchase of $29 as an example, they will reimburse your original $29 payment for the item back to the credit card you used for the purchase which is great. But you must pay for the shipping up front. Which for my small thin vest is $40 (US postal service is cheapest) with tracking ( you must have tracking). But they only will reimburse the shipping amount by putting the funds into your DHgate.com account. So you either have to spend the money at Dhgate.com ,

or the only option to withdraw the funds from your DHgate account is for them to do a bank wire transfer to your bank. And depending on your bank there is a fee that you can not get waived. My fee is $15 wire transfer fee from my bank.

So I pay $29 for an item

I have to pay $40 to ship small package back to China.

To receive the $40 back it cost me $15 which is 50% of the cost of the original purchase.

So I spend $84 total dollars

Only get back $69

And I have nothing to show for it. But I did get to wait a month to receive the item when it was first shipped to me. And I'll get to wait another two weeks when it was shipped back to start the refund process.

Dhgate refuses to use ACH transfers or any other free or less costly means to transfer money. And a company of this size could easily have a policy and be aligned with shipping companies to streamline the process at much lower cost like all other businesses in the world. But heres the thing. They don’t want to make it easy for you to return.

A lot of consumers will just choose to not go through the hastle to pay $40 shipping up front and don’t want to pay the high fees to get reimbursed.

Your option is to lose $29 and keep a *** item you don’t like and wasn’t what you thought you were purchasing….. Ooooooooorrrr

Lose $15 and have nothing to show for it accept spending a lot of time jumping through hoops to get the item returned to China.

The company knows most wont pay that high shipping cost upfront. Chinas shipping to the U.S. is extremely inexpensive and often free for the seller. But shipping back to china is ridiculously high and they know it.

Now there are many problems with the merchandise you receive from most sellers on Dhgate.com

#1 the item you expect to arrive looks totally different. The color , shape or fit is likely to be way different then the photos. And if you read carefully on their website and description for clothes, their sizes run way smaller then U.S sizes, but we all know that. So I wear a medium in U.S. shirt or vest in my case. I ordered an Extra large knowing they run small.

I bought two vests from two different sellers. one XL vest was still way to small for me. This is a *** with all clothes from DHgate.

And the other Vest I bought was light blue, and what I was expecting is a dark royal blue to match the photo that they posted on the website. It was not even close to the photo, and The quality was quite bad. It just looks cheap.

BTW, shipping takes about a month to receive your initial order so be very patient.

So do business with a company where you actually get some value. I will continue to expose this company, and I will not stop. Every week i will post on social media and every avenue i can to help consumers not get scammed by these companies that don't care about American consumers, they just want to get money from the american market, but refuse to give reasonable options or good customer service.

You still have not resolved the problem. In fact, you have completely ignored me and didn't even respond after i gave you my order number and email address. I also contacted you through the link you provided, and I did not receive any contact from you or any other customer service rep from DHgate
