DHgate - Illegal Practice
After placing an online order, first time customers are asked to send a color photo image of their credit card (to prevent fraud they say). Check with any credit card company and they will tell you this is illegal. dhGate reps tell you that you can blot-out certain numbers of the image but they have all the crucial info from the online form anyway which makes counterfeiting the card, child's play. I bought from them 3 years ago with no problem (or image) but they said I was a new customer because i used a different credit card. As an alternative, they asked for the transaction verification number which isn't available for up to 10 days on pending purchases. I spend about 5 hour on their chat line and they don't read 90% of what I wrote and took any opportunity to log off.
